MFC's mutual funds offer
investors the opportunity to have professional fund managers look after
their money. Investors are able to access all the major asset classes
with relatively small sums of money. This includes shares, property,
fixed interest and money market securities.
MFC's range includes funds that
invest in single sectors only or a combination of sectors if you are
looking for some diversification. Please consult an Investment Planner
of the company if you are unsure of any aspect of investing in these
funds. The various funds available are briefly
described below:
Money
Market Fund
An open-end mutual fund that invests
only in short term (one day to one year) debt obligations such
as bank deposits, TB, CB, B/E, P/N, and commercial papers.
The main goal is the preservation of principal, accompanied
by modest dividends. Since this fund is very liquid
and carries very low risk, it is an ideal place for investors
to store their money that is not currently invested
while they look for a more profitable venture to go to.

of asset allocation all by itself. Such a fund invests
in a variety of securities in different asset classes
(fixed income/equity). The purpose is to provide investors
with truly diversified holdings and consistent returns,
while sparing the investor the trouble of having to accomplish
asset allocation by purchasing a large number of different
funds. Some asset allocation funds have a specific breakdown
of asset classes that they try to maintain over time,
while others vary the composition as opportunities and
